With fresh perspectives, a strong foundation, and an ambitious vision, we look ahead to the future with confidence. Here’s what’s next for the IPM.

A Fresh Chapter for the IPM Board

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming our newly elected IPM Board members to their first board meeting. It was an inspiring session, filled with energy, fresh perspectives, and a shared passion for shaping the future of promotional marketing.

Chaired by Becky Munday, the meeting brought together long-standing board members Peter Kerr and Graham Temple, who will oversee Finance. Audit and Risk, alongside IPM General Manager Emma Kirk, to provide key insights, strategic updates, and future plans for the IPM. Even in this first session, exciting discussions and ideas began to take shape, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and industry excellence. IPM President, Lord Black, shared his enthusiasm for this new chapter, saying:

“This is an exciting time for the IPM as we continue to evolve and champion excellence in promotional marketing. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newly elected board members – their expertise and fresh perspectives will be invaluable in shaping the future of our industry. At the same time, I offer my sincere thanks to our departing board members for their dedication and hard work. Their contributions have been instrumental in driving the IPM forward, and we are incredibly grateful for their service.”

Thank You to Our Departing Board Members

As we look ahead, we also take a moment to reflect on the outstanding contributions of our departing board members, who have each played a crucial role in driving the IPM forward over the years. Their dedication, leadership, and passion have left a lasting impact on the IPM and the wider industry. We extend our deepest gratitude for their service:

  • John Sylvester

    16 years of board service

  • Marcus Sandwith

    12 years of board service

  • Rob White

    9 years of board service

“Since joining the IPM board in 2009 it has been a real privilege to work alongside some of the greats in Promotional Marketing.  Perhaps the greatest privilege is to work with those who have shaped the industry but within the safe space of an industry association when otherwise we might be facing each other in fierce competition!  I have learned so much, made lasting friends and built a network that would never have happened otherwise. It is with a sense of pride that I step down having helped steer the IPM through various twists & turns to the point it has reached today.  I’m truly delighted to see a new board in place safe in the knowledge that with Emma at the helm that they will help to take the organisation on to greater things.”

John Sylvester

“My time on the IPM Board has been an incredibly rewarding experience, providing a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with fellow industry professionals and collaborate on shaping the future of our sector. It’s an exciting time of change for the IPM, with fresh perspectives joining to build on the strong foundations already in place. The balance of experience and new energy will ensure that the organisation continues to grow and evolve. While I’m stepping away from the board, I have no doubt that the future is bright, and I look forward to seeing what’s next.”

Meet the New IPM Board

As we welcome our new board members, we invite you to hear directly from them. In this exclusive video, several representatives introduce themselves and share why they chose to join the IPM Board. Catherine Shuttleworth (Savvy Marketing) focuses on making a difference for those entering the industry and ensuring member voices are heard across the UK. Nancy Cullen (SpaceandPeople) speaks about the importance of understanding industry challenges and opportunities, and Michelle Williams (Vodafone) reflects on giving back to an organisation she has often turned to for consultation and inspiration throughout her career.
